Bio Prior to stopping working for other people in late 2004, my working life was spent in IT and Sales. I'm an IT Graduate and I worked for over 15 years in the IT industry, 5 years as a technical consultant and then over 10 years in sales and major account management. The Last 5 years were spent working for one of the UK's leading Telecommunications companies where I was responsible for managing a number of major clients, selling and delivering multi million pound solutions ranging from highly complex internet hosting through to inbound and outbound telephone services. I've been a landlord / Investor for over 15 years and I trade property generally through auction, but today my focus is on large property development projects and building my house building company Wonderful Homes Limited. http://www.wonderfulhomes.co.uk My interest in Property started over 20 years ago. I’d just got my first proper job after leaving university and quickly realised that the only way I was going to be able to afford to buy in the area I wanted to live was to find a wreck and renovate it, and so that’s just what I did. The renovation took a bit longer than expected (almost 10 years, but that’s another story!!) and to help pay the mortgage I rented out one of the bedrooms. After this initial encouraging start at the property game, the rest of my twenties and early thirties were spent working hard and playing hard. I never really gave a thought to climbing any further up the property ladder. If only I knew then what I know now!!! In my early thirties I got hooked on the idea of making loads of money on the stock market. I did have some good wins, but then got carried away trading quite highly geared extended settlements and really got my fingers burnt during the market corrections following the dot com boom. Again, If only I knew then what I know now!!! I guess the real beginning of my property developing and investing career was in 2000. I was still working full time, but it was then that my wife and I bought our first house together. We really stretched ourselves financially and again bought a bit of a wreck that needed modernising (again the refurbishment took a bit longer than expected, still a work in progress in fact, much to my wife’s frustration!!). I kept my previous house and rented it out and still own it today. Since then I’ve bought a few more properties including an apartment off plan in southern Spain which thankfully has been rented out from the day I completed, but remains probably the worst investment I've made. I’ve also renovated and sold a few houses and project managed the virtual demolition and re-build of a landmark cottage for someone else. In 2005 I established my Investment Property and Land Brokerage Agency and in 2006 I purchased a plot of land and obtained planning to build a large detached house which I went on to build and then sold in early 2008 for a reasonable profit, which was pretty pleasing given the state of the market at that time. I set up Wonderful Homes Limited in March 2012.
