Qualified as a Teacher in 1980, entered the profession as a Supply Teacher for a year then joined American Express (Europe) Ltd, Travellers' Cheque Division in Brighton where I worked for 2.5 years. Joined Rank Xerox Sales in Croydon in 1984 then moved to Customer Support and Training where I remained until 1988. Moved to a temporary job as a Print Room operator for London Borough of Wandsworth for 12 months while setting up as a Regional Manager for Lady Remington (UK) in South London having spent many successful years selling jewellery, china and crystal to people in their homes. Eventually moved to West Wales in 1992 where I became PA to the CEO of the Port of Pembroke; after a couple of other Admin posts, and after I had had my daughter, I joined Pembrokeshire College where I delivered IT courses to local companies and in the community for 11 years. My husband and I started investing in property in 2011 on the back of the 2008 crash, with the purchase of a purpose-built student flat in Sheffield. We slowly grew our portfolio with an additional 7 single let houses and flats and in 2019 purchased our first single BTL within our newly formed limited company. We are continuing to expand our portfolio with a combination of single lets, HMOs and development opportunities - our strategy is to add value to our properties, providing good returns for investors who want a share of the profits or income without the inconvenience of having to manage them themselves, giving a hands-off investment product. Our portfolio "product" is high-quality homes for our customers who are treated fairly and with respect. We engage the services of good quality managing agents (with whom we have a great relationship) as we can not be in multiple places at once, so we leave the day to day handling of properties (maintenance, finding customers, etc) to the experts, giving us the time to focus on finding great deals and returns for our investors.
